Pre-Admissions Series Program
For Students Entering 9th and 10th Grade

In the late fall, school divisions will recommend 8th grade students to the Governor’s School Pre-Admissions Series program that are advanced in their mathematics sequence. The Governor’s School will personally contact these students to invite them to informational meetings and to apply to the program. Upon acceptance of their application, the Governor’s School will invite selected potential candidates to sit for a standardized testing section. Test scores, teacher recommendations, and course grades will be used to determine which students will be invited to participate in the Governor’s School Pre-Admissions Series for their 9th and 10th grade years. Designated Pre-Admissions Series students will take prerequisite courses offered in their high schools and will participate in a variety of specific Saturday activities offered at the school that will acquaint with and prepare them for the two-year program during their 11th and 12th grade year. Admission to the Pre-Admissions Series Program is highly competitive.
