FACULTYDawn Chandrasekhar I am the biology instructor at the Governor’s School for Science and Technology. I earned a B.A. in biology from Boston University and then a Ph.D. in cell and molecular biology from the University of Vermont for research about DNA damage and repair. Following a post-doctoral fellowship studying DNA mismatch repair at Duke University, I taught at Thomas Nelson Community College. I really love teaching biology with a “hands on” approach. I feel that the laboratory experience is an essential part of learning in science. When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy traveling, vegetable gardening, and cheering for my kids at their sporting events.
