The Virginia Blue Crab Bowl

Governor’s School team relaxes between sessions at VIMS.

The Virginia Blue Crab Bowl is a regional contest within the National Ocean Sciences Bowl. Each February, sixteen teams compete at Old Dominion University or Virginia Institute of Marine Science. Students answer multiple choice questions, short answer questions and long form analytical questions in fields of ocean science and technology. Regional winners represent the eastern region in the national competition.
