Admissions Procedures

Selected 10th grade students who participate in our Pre-Admissions Series Program should not submit a Governors School Application. We will be contacting guidance counselors to update information for consideration into the Governor’s School for their 11th and 12th grade years. Students who did not participate in the Pre-Admissions Series program and who will be entering 11th grade for the school year must complete an application (available on-line) and return it to their guidance counselor before February 25, 2008.

Admission to the program is highly competitive. Accepted students will be expected to attend the Governor’s School in one of the designated strands: engineering, biological sciences, or scientific programming. Students entering 11th grade will be admitted into the 1st year course sequence of a strand. Students accepted in the Governor’s School their junior year are expected to attend to program for two years.

For younger students (current 8th and 9th graders) considering the Governor’s School, please visit the Pre-Admissions Series Program information on this web site.
