Work Awareness and Transition (WAT)This course provides an introduction for students with disabilities to assist them in understanding, changing and improving specific work behaviors that will help them achieve success in a vocational training program or in the Job Coach program. The WAT program is operated as a small business in three simulated work environments (carpentry, food service and gift basket) that make products that are sold to the public and to other students. Each WAT students receives shares of the income from the product sales depending upon his/her work production. The WAT instructor works cooperatively with teachers at each student's assigned school in developing Individualized Educational Plans, coordinating student programming and addressing student needs.
