College and High School Credit
Students enrolled in certain courses at CTEC can earn college credits from Thomas Nelson Community College (TNCC) or Tidewater Community College (TCC). Articulated credit is earned when you meet the criteria outlined below. Dual enrollment refers to classes where a student is simultaneously enrolled in both a CTEC and TNCC/TCC course. Students may earn these credits by:
- Enrolling in select courses
- Completing the course for dual enrolled courses or completing the course with a grade of “B” or “A” for articulated only courses
- (For articulated only courses) Registering at TNCC or TCC within two years of graduating from high school and attaching the high school transcript and Tech Prep application
When these conditions have been met, college credit is granted for the select courses taken in high school. These courses are under constant curricular review, and new classes may be added before the end of the year! Practical Nursing: TNCC articulates 18 credits for Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) courses taken at
NHREC. Norfolk State University articulates 16 credits and TCC articulates 14 credits for LPN
