Construction Skills Certificate
Overview:
The Level I Skill Certificate is designed as an initial certificate to be utilized by the construction industry as part of its entry workforce training of individuals seeking employment in the construction industry. Courses are taught during weekdays and on Saturday. The Certificate can be completed in six weeks and will be offered throughout the year. Each component will be taught as a scenario or project learning module to provide hands-on and application of skills. Applicants must be drug free and possess a valid drivers license with a clear record. Upon qualifying for the Skills Certificate, every effort will be made to place students with quality contractors on the Peninsula. Participates must be 18 years of age.
Certificate Hours: 94 clock hours
- Safety: 10 hrs
- OSHA 10 Hour Safety Program
- Workforce Readiness (Scenario Based) 18 hrs
- Time Management: (4 hours)
- Finance management (5 hours)
- Teamwork and Work Conduct
(work attitude, teamwork, and fellowship) (9 hours)
- Skill Training (Project Based) 66 hrs.
